This blog post will be about the Disney princess film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Snow White and seven dwarfs came out on 21st December 1937. Its the 1st Disney feature length animated film.

Snow White is a princess living with her stepmother the Queen who is obsessed with beauty. She has an enchanted mirror and always asks the enchanted mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all.
When the mirror answers Snow White, the Queen becomes extremely jealous and sends the Huntsman to kill Snow White however the Huntsman is unable to complete this horrific act and tells Snow White to run and never come back to the Castle. He then sadly kills a pig, removes its heart and presents it to the Queen as Snow White’s heart.
Whilst running from the Queen, Snow White stumbles upon the Seven Dwarfs who are called: Grumpy, Happy, Dopey, Sleepy, Sneezy, Bashful and Doc.
Snow White resides with the Dwarfs until the Queen finds her using the magic mirror and tricks her into eating a poisoned apple by disguising herself as an old woman (sometimes referred to as an old hag).
When the dwarfs come back from working in the mines, they find Snow White in an enchanted sleep. So they build her a glass coffin to sleep in.
After a while the prince comes along and gives Snow White a ‘true loves’ kiss. This awakens Snow White from her enchanted sleep.
Once Snow White is awake, she leaves with the prince to live in his Castle and they lived happily ever after – Well so we’re led to believe.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first full-length animated film released by Walt Disney Studios.
Snow White was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on June 28th 1987.
Dopey was considered for the part of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice in Fantasia before the role went to Mickey Mouse.
The Queen never actually has any screen time with Snow White. It is only when she’s disguised as the Witch that the two are seen to interact.
The Queen is ranked 10th among villains on the American film institute’s “100 years 100 heroes and Villains” list.
The prince has no official first name and he was meant to play a larger part in the film, but the roll was later diminished.

I will rate the film into five categories, lighting, sound, sadness, scariness and Autism friendly. I will also give an overall score.
Lighting and sound categories are in reference to light and sound sensitivity. As a person with Autism I have both but it is possible to have one or the other and still be a person with Autism.
Scariness: 6/10
Lighting: 4/10
Sound: 4/10
Sadness: 6/10
Autism Friendly: Yes
Overall score: 6/10

My personal opinion of this film is that its a good film for its time, however, there are several things I would change about the film for example going with the original concept of having the prince in a bigger role.
That’s the end of the review. Thanks for reading.
