This post is about the 1951 animated film Alice in Wonderland. It is the 13th Disney feature length animated film.

Alice in Wonderland was released on 26th July 1951 and was produced by Walt Disney. It is based on the books Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carol

The film starts with Alice sitting outside in a London park with her older sister and her cat.

Alice is bored by the history lesson her sister is giving her and spots a white rabbit wearing a waistcoat and saying I’m late while holding a pocket watch

Alice decides to follow the rabbit and ends up falling down a rabbit hole.

Once she’s reached the bottom, she finds herself in a new and weird place called Wonderland.

Alice meets various interesting and unusual characters including a mad hatter and Cheshire Cat on her adventure in Wonderland.

The film ends when Alice, having had enough of Wonderland, opens a door intending to leave but instead finds herself sitting in the same place she was at the beginning of the film. It is guessed that she fell asleep and all her Wonderland adventures were a dream.

Alice is most likely comes from a wealthy family, as she references the privileges of the upper class.

Alice’s name means “noble” and “kind”

The 10/6 on Mad Hatter’s top hat is not a fraction but the price of the hat: ten shillings and six pence, in the former currency of Britain

The White Rabbit explains that is pocket watch was an unbirthday present, but it is not known who gave it to him.

The White Rabbit’s watch always reads 12:25

I will rate the film into five categories, lighting, sound, sadness, scariness and Autism friendly. I will also give an overall score.

Lighting and sound categories are in reference to light and sound sensitivity.  As a person with Autism I have both but it is possible to have one or the other and still be a person with Autism.

Sound: 6/10

Lighting: 3/10

Scariness: 8/10

Sadness: 0/10

Autism Friendly: No

Overall Score: 17/40

Although this is a children’s film I actually find it extremely creepy and confusing as half of the film doesn’t make much sense. This is why the plot section is alot shorter compared to other reviews

That’s the end of the review, thanks for reading and feel free to comment.
