This blog post will be about the 1950 Cinderella Animated film.

Cinderella was released on 4th March 1950 and was produced by Walt Disney. It is based on the book Cinderella written by Charles Perrault. It is the 12th Disney feature length animated film.

The film begins with a young Cinderella and her widowed father. The father believing that Cinderella needs a mother, decides to marry a
second woman who has two daughters of her own.
After the father dies, the stepmother and her daughters forces Cinderella
to be a servent in the house and treat her horribly.
Cinderella befriends all the
animals living in the house including mice and birds.
When invitation to the prince’s ball, inviting all the eligible young ladies, arrives at Cinderella’s house, Cinderella asks to go and the stepmother agrees as long as Cinderella has all of her work done.
The family keeps her so busy that she can’t make a dress,
so the animals she has befriended make one for her.
When she comes down to go to the ball, in the animal made dress, her family become extremely angry and her stepsisters repeatedly rip the dress before leaving themselves to the ball.
Cinderella is at home crying when her fairy godmother appears. The fairy godmother transforms
a pumpkin, the mice, and lizard into a coach with staff.
She also transfigures Cinderella’s torn dress into a magnificent ball gown along with a pair of glass slippers.
At the ball, Cinderella dances with the Prince and they fall in love. However, in her hurry to leave the before midnight, as that’s when the magic runs out, She leaves behind one of those glass slippers.
The prince then declares that he will only marry the lady whose foot fits the glass slipper.
The King then orders his staff to try the glass slipper on all the young ladies in the Kingdom .
When the palace staff with the glass slipper arrive at Cinderella’s house, her stepmother having figured out that Cinderella was the one to dance with the prince,
locks Cinderella in her room
The stepsisters try on the slipper and it doesn’t fit. Cinderella managers to
escape her room with the help of her animal friends and ask the try on the slipper.
The stepmother trips the duke carrying the slipper and it breaks.
Cinderella reveals that she has the other glass slipper and tries it on and it fits perfectly.
Cinderella then marries the prince in the palace where they happily ever after – so we’re led to believe.

The Transformation of Cinderella’s torn dress into a beautiful gown fit for a princess is said to be Walt Disney’s favourite piece of animation ever.
Lady Tremaine’s name is mentioned only once throughout the course of Cinderella, when the young ladies and their parents are announced at the ball.
The Prince is only on-screen for a little more than two minutes total. He was originally supposed to have a larger role, but the artists found him too difficult to realistically animate.
The Fairy Godmother’s design underwent so many changes it is impossible to know what her original incarnation looked like.

I will rate the film into five categories, lighting, sound, sadness, scariness and Autism friendly. I will also give an overall score.
Lighting and sound categories are in reference to light and sound sensitivity. As a person with Autism I have both but it is possible to have one or the other and still be a person with Autism.
Scariness : 3/10
Lightning: 3/10
Sound: 3/10
Sadness: 0/10
Autism Friendly: Yes
Overall Score: 9/10

My opinion of this film is its a really good film however I think that if they had kept the original idea of having the prince have a larger role then it would have been more interesting.
